- The City of Savannah has declared a State of Emergency that will be effective at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 21 due to anticipated impacts from a winter storm.
- The Incident Management Team for the City has been activated. The Emergency Operations Center will be opened for 24-hour operations beginning on Tuesday.
- The City’s 311 call center is active. Residents are encouraged to submit requests for services by calling or using the 311SAV App. For emergencies, dial 911.
- The City’s warming center at the Tompkins Regional Center, 2333 Ogeechee Rd. housed over 40 people from the cold.
- City and County Engineering Departments are coordinating roadway improve plans.
- Sanitation routes have been affected by Wednesday’s closures. Residential garbage collection, recycling collection, and yard waste collection services, already operating on a one-day delayed holiday schedule, are scheduled to resume on Thursday, Jan. 23 on a modified holiday schedule. Updates will be provided to the public as available. Collection Centers at Bacon Park and Dean Forest Road will be closed, Wednesday January 23.
- Administrative offices will remain closed all day Wednesday, Jan. 22. Thursday operations will be determined later depending on the impacts of the storm. Emergency services will remain open.
- GDOT has snowplows ready in our area.
